The sticker cannot prove that a data plan, connected service package, Google account, HondaLink subscription, or cellular service remains active (some Google functions require data connectivity). On the Prologue, HondaLink is connected through OnStar, and activation is required for certain remote, safety, and security services.
Software can also complicate original equipment research. Honda has offered a paid wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto upgrade for certain 2018–2022 Accords, so a feature present today may not have appeared on the original sticker.

Do not assume that Honda’s hybrid “e-CVT” terminology describes a conventional belt-and-pulley CVT. The discontinued Honda Clarity name covered three fundamentally different U.S. vehicles: Clarity Plug-In Hybrid, Clarity Fuel Cell, and Clarity Electric. The Insight was a non-plug-in gasoline-electric hybrid. It should not be described as a plug-in hybrid or EV merely because it used electric propulsion assistance.
EPA label formats reinforce these differences. A non-plug-in hybrid is labeled as a gasoline vehicle; a plug-in hybrid shows electric mode MPGe and gasoline mode MPG; an EV or fuel cell vehicle uses alternative energy efficiency and range information appropriate to its fuel.

The sticker verifies the original disclosure shown on the document. Subject to document authenticity and a correct VIN match, that includes the VIN, original model description, trim or configuration, listed powertrain and drivetrain, listed standard and separately priced equipment, original MSRP components, destination charge, total MSRP, final assembly disclosure, and the regulatory information printed on the label. Federal law establishes the core manufacturer disclosure requirements.
The sticker cannot verify current facts. It does not establish the car’s present mechanical condition, collision or flood history, title status, odometer accuracy, maintenance, open recalls, software version, battery health, subscription status, feature operation, remaining warranty eligibility, current tires, modifications, replacement engines or transmissions, accessory completeness, or market value.
Which common used Honda listing errors can the sticker help resolve?
It can expose a Civic Sport advertised as Sport Touring Hybrid; an appearance-modified mainstream Civic presented as an Si or Type R; an Odyssey Touring advertised as Elite; or a Pilot with TrailSport-style accessories presented as a factory TrailSport. It can also resolve whether a current CR-V is gasoline or hybrid, whether a Prologue is FWD or AWD, and whether an older Accord Touring was a 2.0T or Hybrid.

MSRP is not:
- The dealer’s negotiated selling price
- An out-the-door price
- A used car value
- A collector car appraisal
- A replacement cost
- A price after incentives
- A price including tax, title, registration, documentation fees, financing products, or negative equity
Destination is a manufacturer-disclosed transportation charge and not the dealer documentation fee.
A dealer addendum is separate from the federal sticker. It may show things like a market adjustment, tint, paint or fabric protection, nitrogen-filled tires, pinstriping, wheel locks, security products, tracking devices, service contracts, or a dealer-created appearance or protection package. Do not treat a dealer-named “Honda Protection Package”, “Pro Pack”, or similar bundle as factory trim content unless Honda’s own documents establish it.

For a used Honda, the EPA panel helps confirm the original propulsion category and rated configuration. It does not measure present battery degradation or current fuel economy.
How should I interpret the NHTSA safety rating section?
The section displays NHTSA New Car Assessment Program star ratings when ratings have been assigned and released. Federal law calls for frontal, side, and rollover categories and requires a statement when a vehicle or category has not been rated. The labeling requirement was implemented for applicable vehicles manufactured on or after September 1, 2007.

The American Automobile Labeling Act information identifies:
- U.S. and Canadian parts content
- Any other country contributing at least the applicable disclosure threshold
- Final assembly city, state where applicable, and country

- Transmission country of origin
The parts percentages are calculated on a carline basis, not for the individual VIN, and may be rounded. They should not be interpreted as a precise bill of materials for that one Honda. Fuel economy information became part of new vehicle labeling in the 1970s, with MPG appearing on labels from 1977. The NHTSA safety rating disclosure was added later and implemented by September 1, 2007. The redesigned Fuel Economy and Environment label became required beginning with the 2013 model year, adding information such as five-year fuel cost comparisons, smog and greenhouse gas ratings, alternative fuel formats, EV range and charging information, and a QR code.
Honda stickers consequently evolved from relatively sparse price-and-equipment documents into information-dense labels. Older stickers may use different terminology, contain less standard equipment detail, omit modern driver assistance names, and have no QR code. Digital availability is also much less common for older vehicles.
A recreated collector car sticker can be attractive and useful, but it should not be represented as an archived Honda original unless its provenance supports that claim.
Are Honda Monroney stickers available outside the United States?
“Monroney label” refers specifically to the U.S. disclosure system.
